AirPods 4 review roundup: ANC, mixed nod/shake opinions, Vision Pro compatibility, more

The AirPods 4 have been out for 3 weeks now, so it's beyond time to make a review roundup for them!

Anyway, everyone is crazy over the ANC, with several aweing that it is possible with the AirPods 4's open-ear design and saying that it "just doesn't seem like it should work as well as it does" (from YouTuber iJustine). Several also said that it wasn't as good as the AirPods Pro 2 or third-party earbuds (it was "a little less than half as good", according to CNET), but what can you expect with the lack of ear tips and the design (it's "an impressive technical feat" to even have ANC on the AirPods 4, according to PC Magazine!).

One thing that reviewers are mixed on is the nod/shake gesture, with PC Magazine and The Verge saying the exact opposite (the former said that you have to nod/shake pretty hard, and the latter said that even tiny movements were noticed). The sound is "rich" (from PC Magazine), and Vision Pro compatibility is profound (according to iJustine, "it really does make you feel like you are wherever that Vision Pro [is showing you]"). In summary, according to British GQ, the AirPods 4 are the "failsafe option" for gifts, and they are also, according to Forbes, "the best-value option of any AirPods ever".
