Apple has finally announced all of the 100 Best Albums list! Oh, and it includes U2's Joshua Tree album! (yes, I really adore U2. This is not a joke.) The list is made up of the 100 best albums of all time ("all time" meaning 1965-present), thought up by humans--Apple Music editors (when other streamers do best album lists like this, it is made by an algorithm which shows the top albums based on popularity. Also, with other-streamer best album lists, it's mostly focusing on a specific genre (say, rock or alternative), while this one is all the genres). The list was revealed in a 10-day program to keep users on their toes and not overwhelmed by the sheer amount of albums, which would reveal 10 of the best each day, starting from 100-90 and going finally to 10-1 yesterday. I won't write out all 100 of them (or do a 10-day-long incremental revealing), so I'm just leaving you with this link to the 100 Best Albums website (don't forget: you can get more information about an album on the list by tapping/clicking on the album cover).

Anyone can argue about a 'best albums' list and start a heated controversy on the internet, but still, several sources have said that the list has recency or personal bias (a personal bias example being Frank Ocean's Blonde, which is number 5 on Apple's list but number 79 on Rolling Stone's rank, which shows more than mere disagreement (in fact, Blonde was released as an Apple Music special in 2016)). Also, I have never listened to The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", but given how much appreciation of it I've heard about, it should be somewhere in the top 30 at worst. Instead, it's not even on the list. I can't list all of the things that people don't like about the list, but I'll leave it to you to search up "Apple Music 100 best albums list" on X. Anyway, all of it is just the furious internet pinpointing everything the list has wrong. Bye!
