You might think that iOS 18 has now been announced if you just read the headline, but no. Since 2022, Apple has announced new accessbility features to come in the next giant version of iOS a few weeks early in mid-May. Still, these features will only arrive with iOS 18. Anyway, let's start!

First, we have Vehicle Motion Cues, which uses moving dots above the content on your screen to show whether the car is turning left or right, braking, or accelerating (if your car is doing none of these things, no dots are showed). This will reduce carsickness.

Next, those who either have hearing problems or can't hear at all can still listen to music (can you believe it?) by textures, taps, and vibrations going along with the music (developers can also add this feature to their apps with an API).

After that, we have eye tracking, which lets people who can't use their hands to operate the system use their eyes to do so, just like on Vision Pro (minus the pinching). Vocal shortcuts will let users make sounds and semi-talking that will make Siri do whatever is assigned to the sound. A feature called Listen for Atypical Speech can recognize people's unique voice, which is for people with speech disabilities. Finally, CarPlay is now open to all with several accessibility features.

Well, that's not all of the upgrades. If you look at the press release (accessible here), you'll find all of them. Bye to ALL!
