If the iPod (the creator of all other product categories) would've stayed and not been discontinued at 20 1/2 years old in May 2022 (WHY???), it would be celebrating its 23rd birthday!!! But several companies, one of them Elite Obsolete Electronics, have tried to keep it alive in the hands of collectors by being one of the only shops to fix iPods (we're talking about iPod accessories no longer sold, new iPods (90% Classics, but all other kinds are represented too), and part replacements, not actual repairs). The whole thing started out when someone walked into the shop where he worked and wanted to repair an iPod Classic, which couldn't be repaired by anybody at the shop. True, it's hard to find good-quality iPods on eBay and other markets (apparently a "roll of the dice"), but, according to 9to5Mac (my source for this article), it is "a gamble worth taking for the company's growing customer base". For customers with their EOE-bought iPods already, another project is going on to preserve the games that used to have been played on the iPod Classic. If you're interested (all different customizations, including crazy special editions made up by EOE, can be bought at the website), you can see the website here.
