The iPhone 16 reviews are here, and it's time to do my review roundup for them! The sources are CNET, TechRadar, Mashable, The Verge, and GQ.
First, basically everyone's saying that the iPhone 16 is pretty similar to the Pro, more than before, and Mashable says that this is enough to draw Kimberley Gedeon (the reviewer) to the Plus instead of the Pro if the choice was between those two (but the Pro Max is still what he prefers). Most reviewers who mentioned Camera Control liked the new Camera Control button, with only The Verge disagreeing (apparently it's "too stiff", a point that even the enthusiastic TechRadar doesn't deny). A couple reviewers mentioned the improved Photographic Styles, with no one disliking it (CNET even said that the new feature "makes the old version of Photographic Styles feel limiting and basic by comparison" and that it brings the ability to capture awesome images just like that without having to be a professional photographer. Other things that reviewers mentioned were the A18 chip, Apple Intelligence, the new colors, the tougher Ceramic Shield, the Action Button, and the 2x zoom (no negative opinions on any of these).
Me, I'd choose the iPhone 15 over the 16 any day for anyone that doesn't care about Apple Intelligence and flashy buttons, and if you do want those features, upgrade from the iPhone 13 or earlier.
