Apple released Wednesday an all-new (free, as always) app to keep track of team lineups, live bettings odd, rich stats for teams, play-by-play info, and more called "Sports". Available for US, UK and Canada iPhone users, it Sports at launch (see my pun there?) coverage for the Premier League, NHL, LaLiga, NBA, Liga MX, MLS, Serie A, Ligue 1, NCAA (both women's and men's), and Bundesliga leagues. If you're wondering where the NWSL, WNBA, MLB (after all, Apple has done Friday Night Baseball with the MLB on Apple TV+ since spring 2022), NCAAF, and especially NFL went, they're coming for their next seasons. With the new app, you can 'follow' leagues and teams to set the scoreboards on the app homepage to those leagues/teams, as well as watch upcoming games of your followed team/league. The app also features links to the Apple TV app (or your preferred streaming service) so you can watch selected games live. The My Sports feature in the Apple News app still remains, with teams you follow syncing between My Sports and the Sports app.
