Since reading last week's weekend roundup (this time we won't have that because I worked at the blog during the weekend) mentioning new iPads coming on March 26, you've probably all been holding your collective breaths with excitement, especially now that according to the rumor it is coming as soon as today. With, I forgot to mention, a matte screen option (featured both in the Studio Display and Pro Display XDR, in those cases branded 'nano-texture') and smaller bezels! The last two might be true, especially with Bloomberg corroboration for the second rumor, but if you didn't catch my quiet update to the weekend roundup, the first has been specifically deemed "not true" by Mark Gurman on Twitter. Mark Gurman has said before that a different version of iPadOS 17.4 designed for the new iPads might stretch into April (although there is also a possibility for a March launch), and installation on the new hardware might take us well into next month before the new iPads can become available, but this still leaves possibility for a March launch of the new iPads. This is not unusual for Instant Digital (the leaker of the March 26 date), as it has a mixed track record. Bye, and calm your iPad excitement for now!
