The analyst company Counterpoint has reported that in Q4 2024, although Samsung still beat Apple for the top phone shipment spot, Apple set a new record for shipments, residing alongside Apple's record general Q4 revenue (already announced in October's earnings report) and its 6% increase in revenue for the iPhone sector. This means, according to 9to5Mac, that both the higher selling price of the iPhone 15 Pro (and subsequently the iPhone 16 Pro (compared to Q4 2023)) and more unit sales factor in to the increase in revenue. If you're wondering why Apple didn't just report the number of unit shipments in its earnings report, it hasn't done so since 2019, so this is not new.
