The Mac mini now has been redesigned, for the first time in one and a half decades!!! Here are the details. First, the Mac mini is much smaller, so small (at 5x5 in) that you can hold it in your hand, due to an "innovative new thermal architecture". Next, the Mac mini now has an upgraded chip (the M4), with the high-end version even getting the all-new M4 Pro chip! This means that Apple Intelligence is supported, too! On the new M4 chip, it has a 14-core CPU (ten performance, four efficiency; two more cores than before) and 20-core GPU (also 2 more cores than before), plus up to 64GB of RAM and a 273GB/s (up from 150 GB/s) memory bandwidth. This means that Apple Intelligence is supported. After that, the ports have changed, with the absence of USB-A ports filled in by an extra Thunderbolt port, and all the Thunderbolt ports being up to the Thunderbolt 5 standard (the first for any Mac), with 3x faster speeds at 120GB/s. The base price is still $599, while the M4 Pro version is now at $1,399. The Mac mini can be preordered right now, and it will ship on the 8th.
