Finishing the week of Mac updates, the M4 MacBook Pro has finally arrived, with the M4, M4 Pro, and new M4 Max plus Thunderbolt 3, a nano-texture option (plus the display can show SDR content at up to 1000 nits), a better camera, and exactly a full day's worth of battery. First, the new M4 Max. The M4 Max has a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, and 500+ GB/s of memory bandwidth at the maxed-out version (which is $300 more). It's funny that not much has changed: still 128GB of RAM, and the GPU count has only increased by two from 38. Next, Thunderbolt 5 is also here, as well as an HDMI port with up to 8K resolution. After that, the nano-texture and 1000 nits SDR brightness, and after that the camera improvements (apparently it "delivers enhanced video quality in challenging lighting conditions). Finally, the battery. On the 16-inch M4 Pro version, we now have a full 24 hours of video streaming and 17 of web surfing. Also, the base M4 version now has the Space Black color it's been craving and a new port arrangement (one on the left, one on the right instead of two on the left). The M4 MacBook Pro starts at $1,599 on the 14" M4 with 16GB RAM (instead of the measly 8GB: FINALLY!!!) and 256GB storage.
