Yay! The WWDC24 date has been announced! But if you're thinking that the keynote just happened or is coming very soon, calm down, because Apple usually announces the date for WWDC months ahead of time. It's still going to be in early June, just a tiny bit late: usually it starts the first Monday of June, this time it's the second (the only other recent time this has happened was 2020 due to the pandemic: it was June 22 instead of June 1), this year equating to June 10. That's just the keynote: the full week with activities, workshops and other fun things for developers (plus the Platforms State of the Union conference going deeper into the new software updates that happens just hours after the keynote) will only end on the end of June 14. The things announced will be for sure software, with Apple's first steps into generative AI expected to be announced, more generative AI app integration and less Apple GPT (with rumors of Apple partnering with Google for its Gemini chatbot and Baidu for its namesake chatbot (the latter Chinese-centric) and making an AI App Store with all kinds of chatbots). If you were wondering, along with the normal updates, visionOS will also get a number 2 version at WWDC. Some hardware might be announced also (this mostly doesn't happen, but since WWDC22 it has) although there's no rumors yet, because it looks like Macs like the Mac mini and Studio are ripe for upgrades, and new smart home products like a HomePod with a display have shown signs that they are close to being announced. Bye, and I can't wait for WWDC24!
